Do we need to be a 501(c)3 organization?
No, the Foundation will also make grants to municipal and other public shelters that meet our eligibility criteria.
Who provides the vehicle we need?
The grantee is responsible for purchasing the transportation van and arranging for post-delivery modifications such as HVAC installation and van wrap application. The Foundation can connect the grantee with a prior grantee with questions about the van purchasing process.
Are we allowed to bring animals besides dogs in the transportation van?
The primary purpose of the van is for transportation of dogs. Incidental use for other species to "ride along" must be kept to a minimum. Use of van for non-shelter related purposes is prohibited.
