FAQ

Do we need to be a 501(c)3 organization?

No, the Foundation will also make grants to municipal and other public shelters that meet our eligibility criteria.

Who provides the vehicle we need?

There are multiple manufacturers of mobile adoption vehicles. If given a grant, the Stanton Foundation can work with you to find a quality supplier for your van.

Are we allowed to bring animals besides dogs in the adoption van?

The Stanton Foundation supports canine welfare organizations. However, we believe that a substantial benefit of mobile adoptions is that they increase foot traffic at the shelter facility as well. We understand that smaller cages may be suitable for cats but dog adoptions must be the primary focus.

We have worked hard to get our live release rate above 80%; why does the Foundation only work with groups below that level?

The Stanton Foundation attempts to do the greatest good for the greatest number of dogs. Adoption rates above 80% create a scenario where the cost per additional dog adopted becomes very high as the remaining available dogs are generally the most difficult to place. The Foundation commends all organizations who are successful in reaching such a high level of success in their work.
