Dog Park Guide

Welcome to the Stanton Foundation Dog Recreation Space (DRS) research guide. This section of our website is intended to be a resource for community leaders and organizations interested in bringing a DRS to their city or town. This research guide defines key DRS terms and construction concepts, shares commonly used materials, and provides profiles of DRS’s that the Foundation has funded. It is important to highlight that with many of the DRS elements covered in this guide, there is often a tradeoff between cost and aesthetics as well as initial cost and ongoing maintenance costs. As each community is unique, there is no “best” option in any category.

Please note that statistical information found in this guide is representative of a small sample of DRS’s that were funded by the Stanton Foundation and are currently open to the public. More DRS’s will be added to this guide as they are built. We hope this guide will help you design a DRS that best meets the needs of your community.
